A glam Nicole Kidman gets her dance moves on alongside Troye Sivan in the pop star’s latest music video, “She’s the Best,” which dropped on Friday.
Kidman, who reunites with Sivan after they starred together in Boy Erased, in the stylish music video is dressed in black and blowing cigarette smoke as she sashays into a drag bar and on the dance floor makes eye contact with Sivan as he croons from the main stage: “That girl, that girl, wow, that girl/She’s the best.”
The music video, which has Kidman’s as Sivan’s muse — “the heartbeat bumping in my chest” — also celebrates the drag community, including drag legend Sasha Colby, and is the title song from Sivan’s upcoming album due out Oct. 9.
Sivan said of the music video in a statement: “’She’s the Best’ is a painting that captures my life in all of its moods and colors. It explores the high-octane highs of the last few years, and the solitude and longing that sat underneath. It’s chaotic, layered, organic, troubled and alive. It feels like the truest and most creative version of myself I’ve ever shared. At some point along the way I realized – the only constant in my life keeping me somewhat sane has not been the work, or the men, but the feminine. Thank god for them.”
Sivan starred in Boy Erased alongside Lucas Hedges, Kidman and Russell Crowe. The 2018 film featured Sivan’s “The Good Side,” from his second studio album, Bloom.
Kidman is returning to the music video world with She’s the Best, which follows a 2001 appearance in Robbie Williams’s collaboration “Somethin’ Stupid,” and her first outing in the genre in 1983 in Pat Wilson’s “Bop Girl,” when she was 15 years of age.
