‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ soars past the billion mark on the global box office

As 2026 is halfway through, Hollywood has finally seen its first film cross the $1 billion mark at the box office.

It is The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Released in April, the movie is in its 10th weekend in cinemas.

Domestically, the movie hauled in a whopping $428.5 million, and overseas, it drew in a massive $571.5 million.

In the Super Mario franchise, The Super Mario Galaxy movie trail is just behind The Super Mario Bros. movie.

Meanwhile, with the latest milestone, the video game adaptation franchise has soared past $2.3 billion worldwide.
