WME head of contemporary music Lucy Dickins is departing from the agency, according to a memo from WME Group co-chairman Christian Muirhead obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

Muirhead confirmed that Kirk Sommer, whose clients include heavy-hitters like The Killers, Benson Boone, Hozier, and Nine Inch Nails, would continue to lead the contemporary music division moving forward.

“We wanted to share with everyone that our friend and colleague Lucy Dickins will be leaving WME,” Muirhead wrote.

Dickins is one of the most-respected agents in the industry, and she first joined WME in 2019 and was elevated to co-head of music in 2020 amid the pandemic. She’s Adele’s longtime agent, and her brother Jonathan Dickins is Adele’s manager. Coming out of the U.K., she moved to Los Angeles after her promotion.

It’s unclear what clients will go with Dickins. WME didn’t provide any further information on Dickins’ departure, though several sources suggest she could be moving to CAA. Reps for WME and CAA either didn’t reply or declined to comment on the matter.

“Over the past seven years, Lucy helped us navigate one of the most disruptive periods in the live music business,” Muirhead said in the momo. “As the head of our UK office, she re-energized our presence in London, built a strong team, and solidified WME’s leadership in the region. Then COVID hit and she dove right in, taking on her expanded role, relocating to Los Angeles, and providing critical support to our team during an unprecedented crisis. After the pandemic ended, she led major signings, constructed innovative tour models, and brought exceptional heart and enthusiasm to our business.”

“Please join us in wishing Lucy the best in her next chapter,” Muirhead concluded in the memo on Friday.
